Our Founder

In order for our players to succeed and as passionate as we are as football coaches, we pour our heart and soul into every practice, driven by a profound love for the sport. The Teams enthusiasm is contagious, motivating players to push beyond their limits and embrace the challenges of the game. We as coaches stick to our founder (Kelvin Mellor’s) philosophy/passion and professionalism. We focus on developing each player’s technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical fitness while also nurturing their mental resilience.

Kelvin Mellor

Kelvin was born and raised in Crewe, where his love for football began at grassroots level with Nantwich Town. From the age of eight through to sixteen, he developed his game there, earning a call-up to Nantwich’s first team at just 16 – a moment that proved to be a turning point.

His performances quickly caught the attention of Crewe Alexandra, who invited him on a six-week trial. Kelvin seized the opportunity, earning himself a three-year professional contract and officially beginning his career in the professional game.

During his time at Crewe Alexandra, Kelvin enjoyed unforgettable success, winning at Wembley twice – securing promotion to EFL League One and lifting the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in the same season. Wembley would become a familiar stage throughout his career, going on to play there a further three times and winning four out of five appearances – an achievement he remains extremely proud of.

Spanning 17 years, Kelvin’s football journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster. As a late developer, he understands better than most that progress isn’t always linear – and that patience, resilience, and belief are just as important as talent.

Now, with over 500 professional games to his name, Kelvin is passionate about giving back. His mission is to provide young, aspiring footballers with a clear pathway, guidance, and opportunities he never had growing up. With extensive contacts across the game, he is well placed to open doors – always at the right time, and always in the best interests of the player.
